It’s happened to most of us at one point or another during the summer heat…you don’t want to work out and would rather spend time on sailing, traveling or soaking up the sun with a cold beverage in hand. Keeping up your workout routine or starting your journey to a healthier you is just as important in the summer as it is during the rest of the year. Want to enjoy a catnap by the pool? We certainly don’t discourage that! But you really can have it both ways, and in turn, look and feel better while you’re lounging. Here are a few quick tips to get your behind working out instead of just slacking off in the heat:
Walk on the beach.
Lucky for you…we have a beach. Take advantage of it and make your 30-minute walk one by the ocean. Do it by yourself or recruit a friend or loved one to make the program’s suggested daily walk something you end up looking forward to doing. If you feel like you need an additional accountability partner, you can join a Facebook or Meet Up group that’s serious about fat loss and add social networking into the mix to keep you motivated. (see Fat Bomb#8 below)
Freeze grapes, blueberries or strawberries to pop in your mouth after a hard workout. Yeah, your muscles are in complete failure, BUT you made it through the hard stuff and now have a frozen treat (packed with vitamins) to cool you off. This will also help to lower your body weight, which we know from The Body Fat Breakthrough, helps us lose more weight and gain more muscle!
Make new habits.
Healthier habits lead to better results. Don’t hold back from “over-learning” more about how you can help yourself. Read Dr. Darden’s book, ask your motivator Illy or another X-Force Body coach, or go to Google. Then, apply your new health tips for at least 21 days in a row to create healthy habits.
